I have a snap on 3/8 ratchet that spent some time in a fish tank.
So the guts were all rusted junk.
But a new kit from snap-on fixed almost all of it.
However, the spring and ball that tensions the pawl is stuck down in the hole it lives in, and wont stick it's tiny little head out.
any ideas on how to make it come up for air??

Drive it down into the hole with a small drift and hammer, to break the rust free, then whack the end of the ratchet with a brass hammer to make it jump out (hopefully). Otherwise you are major porked. There are very few steel objects harder than a ball bearing :(

Kroil (http://www.kanolabs.com/google/ (http://www.kanolabs.com/google/)) and lots of tapping with the brass, lead, or leather hammer.
