Title: Anyone here somewhat of a knife expert?

 I picked this baby up at an estate sale today. Weighs over 2lbs. and the blade is at least an 1/8" thick. From what I can read some of the stampings say 130-12 and underneath says "hand made"

 It's just a tad over 17" long. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks  Bill "pipehack"

Wow better check that knife for steroids, another inch and it would be a machete.

Heard from the gazettes scottg that it could be home made.  I'm not a knife guy but don't want to polish it up just in case it is something special. Just wish all the markings were ledgeable. So far.. It's just one big honkin' knife.

 That last pic I posted is crap. This wont go in my kitchen and have no practical use for it to tell you the truth. Just looked too cool to pass up. This estate sale went on over a month ago and for some reason this weekend again. Kinda wish I picked up a rather nice RemLine tool chest instead But as many of you know I picked up a Craftsman machinist chest last week and I'll run out of room quick in a 1 car garage.

I'll call that a boning knife.


Edit: No it's a butchers knife. (I googled it...funny I always called then boning knifes) Oh, and I do own a couple of them.

Looks like a butchers knife to cut hanging carcass.. seen something like it in a German slaughter house years ago.
