Hello, I am brand new here-- joined today because I have recently been given a ton of old tools that were a family friends and I know NOTHING about tools.  I was hoping that you guys would help me out!  Thanks so much in advance, and I can't wait to learn more.

Hi and welcome from Alberta. You are in the right place. Post some pictures and someone will know what they are. Not very often does a tool remain a mystery for long.
