Title: Box of Crowfoot Wrenches Marked US Found at a Garage Sale
Post by: MysteriousGT on October 13, 2012, 05:00:06 PM
I Found a bin of 75 Crowfoot Wrenches at a Garage Sale, He was Asking $1 Each and I Asked How Much Would he Take for the Entire Bin!

Needless to Say i Just about Fainted When He told Me $20 and their Yours!

After Getting it Home i started to Clean them up to see who the Maker was "Couldnt do it Onsite Due to others around me Perking their Ears at the Price" ...But i found Most of them have a AN Number with NO Maker...But they are Stamped "US"...Anyone Know who Might Have Made them...The Ones by Snap On are Stamped Snap On, and Proto Stamped Proto Ect...but Most are Only Stamped US!

***EDIT*** Just Counted the Makers

13 Snap-On, 10 Proto, 2 Plomb, 4 Stamped AN + Numbers with NO Maker/US Stamps, 1 Bonney, 1 Armstrong, 1 S-20512, 43 Stamped US with the AN + Numbers

Any Help would Be appreciated!

My (very) weak guess for the AN/US ones would be Proto, but it's only based on vague circimstantial evidence.

Regardless, you cleaned up getting a whole box for what just one of those cost these days ;P

Thanks for the Feedback, My Brother seems to think Snap On because some of the product numbers take us to snap on products...but proto was what i was guessing too!

As soon as he said $20 i wasnt gonna leave without them lol  i would have gladly paid the asking price but you know you always have to ask lol

Thanks,

These Crowfoot Wrenches look to be Old as Dirt, Cause the Snap On Wrenches have the Logo as Snap/On which i havent seen much tools with that Logo Yet!

Here is a Picture of the Logo!

Wowee Score!!  My question is why were there 75 crowsfoot wrenches in one place?  A normal set is 8 or 10.  I don't think any of us could find that many in the wild in a lifetime. I don't remember ever seeing one other than on fleabay or on a tooltruck.

Gah zow!! Score!!!
This is splendid. What with the fall? Stuff is coming out all over! Usually its only spring cleaning but it looks like a lot of fall cleaning and estate sales this year.
