Title: LG's kijiji grabs for 10/14/12: Gray-Bonney & Britool
Post by: lbgradwell on October 14, 2012, 07:46:46 PM: kijiji yielded some more treasures today. Thanks to a tip on the GJ, I drove out to Brantford today (~65km) to grab an excellent vintage Gray-Bonney #17 Ignition Wrench Set for $7!

I ended up grabbing a 24" Ridgid pipe wrench, a vintage Craftsman Crown-logo hand box and a pair of NOS Gray thread re-storers too.

On the way there, I stopped in Hamilton to collect 6 large vintage Britool combination wrenches for another $20. There were 15/16", 1", 1-1/16" and 1-1/4" wrenches in SAE and 5/8W & 3/4W in Whitworth.

Of course, I already had the SAE sizes, but it's nice to have British-made versions for my British tools collection & I only wish the 1-1/8" was included too.

But it was the Whitworth I really wanted; I had the 5/8W size in a DOE but the 3/4W is new for me. These are big wrenches: the 5/8W is 27.94mm while the 3/4W is 33.02mm.

Very nice, never see ign sets in rolls that nice....

(Not hot on Britool, but, wow, is that a nice clean logo)
