Happy Thanksgiving to all. Have a wonderful holiday.
One of my most favorite holidays! The bird will go into the oven in about an hour. In two hours, I'll be picking up my younger step son at the train station. The day here is gorgeous!
I join jimwrench in wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving.
Just finished with the bird, the dressing, cranberries, sweet pickles, dishes are done, anticipating some pie in an hour or so of careful, and close sofa study.
Wife is making her special Jambalaya that we will take to the family dinner.
I am watching the Texans against the Detroit Lions.
Noel:
Jambalaya? That's as in the song,
Jambalaya, catfish pie, Oh me oh myo
Son of a gun, have big fun on the bayou?
Bob
Yep. Her family is Cajun, all the way from Jennings and Mermentau Louisiana. Her mama came to Texas as a teenager and spoke very little English until she came here.
I knew one Cajun woman, nice gal, and she could cook. But when something fired her up, the language that came out of her, with emphasis, made one want to vacate the premises! And I couldn't even understand the words.
