I've been hard at work in the shop organizing stuff and decided to put some old tools in the Kennedy mechanics boxes a I got a few weeks ago. Went to Walmart to buy something to line the drawers with and didn't want to spend much money, so I bought 3 yds. of red fleece for $4/yd. Only needed about half that. Decided to try and get at least all the Plomb stuff in the top box and see what wort of space was left. Well, it pretty much filled.
Was able to get all the Proto newer gen and older gen(Oily, the screwdrivers are on a walnut rack I made hanging elsewhere in the shop BTW) in the bottom chest and even had room for the Fleet/P&C/Pennens tool box in the big cavity at the bottom, The Challenger stuff is in that cheapo plastic box until something cooler and the right size comes along. Gotta keep the family together, huh??
Local guy here in town posted a bunch of antique tools he's letting go of cheap. I'll keep everyone posted.

Nice Tool collection & Box. Are those PLUMB boxes attached to the lid? how?
-
No, OT, just propped up there for now. They'll go below the poop deck once I get around to it.
Thanks

Your Proto and Plomb is coming together nicely. Good to see you're keeping that Kennedy box. Looks nice loaded down. My heart was missing a tick over the pebble flare nuts being MIA in a nice home - finally spotted them.
Stop picking on Challenger just because they were an economy line - and get them outta that cheapo nasty looking box. I'll forfeit a metal one if required :)
Nice job! Welcome back!
PS: I have a cherry metal Proto 1/4" drive socket holder to hang from the side ledge of your Kennedy. Sitting in your box.

Those old Kennedy boxes are really cool and I certainly approve of your interior decor. Well, OK, except for the tacky plastic box. It is a Martha Stewart no-no.

The eagle eyes in this group will see the Proto 1/2" Drive box(that Oily found full of Proto, for me BTW) on the very bottom labeled with some lime green masking tape). If someone has a "donor" Proto top tray(not sure how you'd tell) to fit all those sockets in, well, I do have a few duplicates in that stash.....lol. Since there isn't much in the way of Challenger tools in the gray box, I have s shorty metal Craftsman that could house them, should we put that up for a group vote??? The very back of the Proto socket drawer has a long red socket tray that I stuffed with 1/2" drive stuff.
I believe there are 2 4" Proto adjustables in there too....
