Title: Whatzit Doozies Part 1
Post by: dimwittedmoose51 on January 11, 2013, 04:00:40 AM
The item on the bottom seems to be some sort of first generation spark generating tool, but not sure where the flint goes.  Very cool item however.  The other item is what has me baffled.  I shot 3 photos of it and I'm not sure if that's going to be enough!!  Good luck on this one folks.

TIA

There should be a screw in cap on the round piece opposite the handle on the spark tool. This would have held the spring loaded round flint like lighters use.

Are there any marks of any kind on it?

Looks like a rag rug making tool - not seen this exact model before... For others see http://outils-anciens.xooit.fr/t454-bidule.htm and http://outils-anciens.xooit.fr/t4918-ancien-outil-pour-le-cuir-comment-a-marche.htm

Well, Rag Rug maker wasn't on my top 50 guesses, but I'll take  it!!  That website had a photo of an almost exact twin to mine, but my French is a bit weak.  The lighter I think meits a little more research on my part......Thanks all.
