Title: FINAL!! Pawn shops/Resale Shops 5 Auction 0
Post by: dimwittedmoose51 on January 13, 2013, 12:43:37 PM
Went to an industrial auction nearby and bid on a lot of stuff, but it all got too high for my blood.  Srtrings of $30(new) Craftsman sockets were bringing $40-45 and a Bosch hammer drill brought $400.  The C-man sockets were less than 5 years old and virtually new, but.....  Most of the sale was a Masonry Contractor 's going out of business auction.  A dozen Stihl concrete saws, scaffolding, and the trailers and skid loaders to go with it.  I walked away with a $5 flat screen monitor for the downstairs computer and headed for the resale shops.

A nearby resale shop that has interesting finds from time to time was the first stop and bought a package of stuff that included the Sioux valve grinder, the C-man Vanadium DOE, and the Fulton Brace screwdriver bit and the small drill bit adapter(no mfg. name on it), and a bunch of other stuff not tool related for $10.  St. Vincent De Paul was next and they had the Deleval cream wrench, the 2 Western Auto Screwdrivers(and the Great Neck slot), and the DOE.  Spent $3 there.  Then to Money and More's new location n downtown Waterloo.  Didn't realize they were expanding, but it's more focused on electronics than tools, but I spent $6 there on the Proto 12" adj. the SK combo and roughly half the sockets in the photo.  The big score for the day was the $10 V-series swivel joint C-man sockets(yeah, the 3/4" is a replacement, but Oily will just have to find that singleton on his own!!) and the original metal case that's in great shape.  Found that at E Z Pawn on my way to the other Money and More Location.  Since I was running out of money and time simultaneously, I didn't rifle through their socket stash too hard, but found the Fairmount DOE and the rest of the sockets for $3.  The other two resale shops didn't have any tool stuff, but did find a few 50 cent CD's and a better office chair plastic thing to protect the carpet(mildly tool-related since I spend so much time in the chair posting all this drivel....lol).

Getting boxes ready to ship all the last weekend stuff out, so be patient.

I have some serious drool going on over those Cman V series flex sockets.  So far as I'm concerned that IS, in fact, the find of the day for you.

PS - I may well have the missing child already.  I have several loose flex sockets you've already sent me in V series.
