I know this a ford special tool since it was made by manzel and IIRC 9505 is the base part number for a carb but what specific purpose? it is labled go-no go.

Just ran into a Snap-on model MC-137; they called a float level gauge.

i'm not convinced it's a float guage. never seen one labled go-no go. although it was my first thought until I de-rusted it.

I found this, courtesy of the ntractorclub.com site. A great web site with a ton of information. I didn't hunt hard enough to find the 9505A, but I bet it is in one of their catalogs somewhere.
Edit: Dammit, looking at the catalog page, I see that I transposed the numbers and found the 9550, not the 9505. Anyway, if you look through their archives, the 9505A has to be in there somewhere.

You could call it a "Go / No Go Gauge" for a Ford/Lincoln/Merc carburetor :-)
-OR-
"Use Ford Gauge 9550-A to set the float ... (1.353" end 'Go', 1.322" end 'No Go') measuring from ..."

oily....although this is a 9505a instead of 9550a the pdf stating go-no go has me thinking that float guage is right. thanks!
i should have went with my first instinct instead of over thinking.

Here's another Manzel gadget with a "Go No Go" part designation. Again, courtesy of the NTractorClub.com site. Not exactly the same thing, but may provide a clue.
