Title: Moose Assisted Monkey & Pipe Wrenches
Post by: OilyRascal on January 20, 2013, 08:06:01 PM
*some* of the wrenches out of dimwittedmoose's Craigslist loot have arrived.  I thought I would share them as I try to learn of them myself.  You must appreciate I'm very new to learning, or possessing, monkey wrenches.   My first true monkey wrench coming from johnsiron within the last year.  Pipe wrenches on the other hand I have just a few of.  These are very nice additions.  I hope you enjoy them; I have.

To start the thread:

10" Enderes pipe wrench

8" J.P. Danielson based on the Stillson

14" Moore based on the Stillson

14" marked "Stillson Wrench" - clearly on Stillson pattern.  Has bowling pin shaped logo with "W" inside I haven't figured out.  I may, just haven't yet.

I believe the W was for the Walworth Manufacturing Co., which employed Daniel Stillson.

I thought that you already had more pipe wrenches than Walworth ever made. Nice additions. Great condition.

Looks like they survived the Large USPS box claustrophobia syndrome with flying colors.  In Oily's spare time, he promised me he'd clean up the crusties...maybe even whittle a new handle for the little one.....

Wow...how long does it take to wear all the knurling off the steel thumbnut* with your thumb?

*Is thumbnut a word?
