Title: mfg. needed

this wrench is unfamiliar to me. Markings say patent Sept 97 there is no number it might even mean 1997
the threaded post and the slider are screwed into the top jaw the body and the handle is formed one piece.
would like more info on it even if is is new .  bob w.

i think its a vandergrift pat ihc wrench. very common.

The guy who had it before wasn't very bright though. Didn't he know he was supposed to hammer the heck out of it for 50 years and mushroom the backside out until it started to crack?

that's what made me think about it,  there isn't even a scratch on the jaws.  bob w.
