Another one sent me in an email asking for help in identification. The images sent me were in TIFF format and quite small, so I doubled the size- any more than that made the pictures so grainy I couldn't see much detail.

Looks like it could have sand paper attached and perhaps used to sand hard to reach areas?
Absolute guessing here.

I was thinking a concrete float bob w.
-
Is the handle iron and the rectangle wood?
-
I can't tell from the pictures and making them larger does no good. I've been waiting for the sender to respond to some questions.

papaw, try opening the tiff in something else, some (broken) tiff programs swap the main images and the thumbnail images....
-
I tried several methods with same results.
-
Looks sort of like something made from an old paintbrush handle, but not really enough detail to tell. What is the size of the object? Complete item needs to be shown in photo.
-
Looks like some sort of upholsterer's webbing stretcher...
-
webbing stretcher
Could be that.
-
It seems we had one of these brought to the MWTCA meet awhile back. And webbing stretcher rings a bell. Both pieces are all wood, with the wire link between them, right?
-
Can't tell, but they both look like wood to me.
-
If it could work like the one in this drawing (and with a section of dowel I think it might), then it could work as a webbing stretcher.

I wish the people that emailed this to me would respond to my request for better pictures.
