This double clamp is marked E.S. French, Denver Colo. Pat applied For. Any ideas what it would have been used for? Could find nothing on the company per internet search. It was this weekends flee market unknown tool--price $1.00. Thanks for any ideas.

Gluing edge banding. Modern examples look a little different, but the principle is the same.

Patented in 1923

I tried it today--it does work good for muffler bearing removal--hardest part was finding the bearings!

You do not replace muffler bearings you take them out ,turn them around and install them. You can do this 5 or 6 times before replacing the muffler. I used to go to meineke and pull the bearings out of their trash and sell and install them backwards and the muffler was good for another 20 thousand. bob w.

Looks like something I used back in 1961 in Honduras during Interrogation training.
