I can't help on the Cornwell, the VLC tools hold adjacent tappets from turning whilst leaving your two hands to manipulate two wrenches and a feeler gauge behind a hot exhaust manifold.

pre 1955 side valve Hillman Minx engine is the application.

Do you have RG857 ?

It's one I seek

I will guess the Cornwell piece holds a nut in place behind an obstruction , while you start the bolt?

I believe it's a VW clutch adjuster
