Title: Unidentified Snap-On tool
Post by: G_P on May 30, 2013, 12:56:00 AM
Picked this up at an estate sale for a buck. 1/2" drive. Handle end is knurled.  Seems like it was made for a very specific application.  1952 date code. Google searching has turned up squat. For all I know it may be something somebody bent up themselves but the bends look factory done.
This is driving me nuts to have a tool and not know what it is for!

I didn't see it in the 1953 catalog shown on Collecting Snap-On-  http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalogs/catalogs.php?loggedin=0&catalog=-1&catType=All&resultStart=24 (http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalogs/catalogs.php?loggedin=0&catalog=-1&catType=All&resultStart=24)
but I didn't look at every page.

A odd piece.  Would not be in a reg. cat.  The "N" codes are usually specials,  maybe for the railroad.

When I worked at the Amoco station back in the 60's, I remember something like that hanging on a board on the front end alignment machine.

I was thinking it may have been for front end work.
