I am unable to find any data on this Ratcheting wrench. Marked as Snap-on, B-178836.
At the same time I bought an almost identical piece, same pat no. with no brand name.
I searched and found one or two other wrenches with the same pat no., but no real info.
Promo piece possibly ? But I couldn't find the SO logo date page either so maybe my search-fu is weak today...
Hope the pics are good enough. Thanks

DATAMP entry for the patent (http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=2500835&typeCode=0 ) notes it was assigned to J.H. Williams .
Back in the early 70's I bought a new set of J.C. PENNEY ratchet box ends marked with the same patent number. So -- did a single maker produce them all, stamped with the name of whatever brand?

Yeah, it looks like it got around a bit.. these are all DBE tho .
If I only had the one, I might believe it was shortened, but the other is the same build, just a brighter finish.

Might need a snappy expert to track down that model number.

Brian, If you haven't already, you might check Frank Murch's "Collecting Snap-on" site, it is the best I've seen for info on SO tools.

I think you'll find it's one of a set.
