Title: Double S
Post by: stormking on September 09, 2013, 11:57:11 PM
I have a soft spot for S wrenches but have never seen a double S before. I think It was made in Ohio so it is along way from home. What did they use these for?

That's a Blizzard Mfg. Co. (W6). They made silage cutters which produced silage that looked like a blizzard.
Rathbone Vol 1 page 56.

From a user standpoint, you get the "offset handle" advantage of an "S" wrench without the huge dislocation a single "S" this size would have.  If we knew the layout of the machine it was designed to be used on, I suspect we'd see the reason for the "double S."
