Title: Another one for you guys

Long end with the point is 7 3/4" and short end (handle) is 4".  Can anyone tell me what it is called and what it is for?

I would say some sort of ground stake, like a tent stake of some sort

Could be a safety lock pin for something, (goes in a hole to keep something from moving when you are working on it, or storing it etc)
