I hit 4 garage sales (Targets of opportunity on the way to estate sales) and struck out. The first sale was advertised as a tool sale, but was four suburbanite women moving new clothing and merchandise with some antique furniture. Nice stuff, but very pricey. Then I saw the little drawer with 11 "Cutting Boards" for $1.75 each. I grabbed the pile and did not whimper over the price. The wood is a variety of exotic South American wood. They are routed with an ogee on three sides. They are 5 in X 7in by at least 1 1/2 in, The thickest is two inches. They were made as showroom samples for a maker of wood counter tops. I predict that some monkey wrenches are going to get some purty handles this winter.

The second stop was a real estate sale. Not much exciting except the two Plomb speeders a nice sharp thread file and a Bonney whatsit. I found the patent stuff, but all that it says is 'Locking Pliers'. There is a V groove in both jaws that is cut in a cross both horizantal and vertical. Anyone wanna take a stab at it? It is a 1961 patent.
Oh yea, a 1/3 hp Craftsman motor. It appears to be new old stock. I didn't take a photo yet. Can anyone date a brown and tan motor?

The pliers are for installing and removing radiator hose clamps. K-D made some that looked like that.

Ime really loving the wood.
I would be interested in seeing your rehandle project.

Oily, the red and clear chisel is a Buck Bros STAG. The one next to it is a Fuller.

It (the Buck Bros) is purdy. I'd like to see a Lauver class freshening on that guy. A Buck Brothers is my "goto" chisel day to day in framing, but mine are much newer.
