So I had mentioned I need an air conditioning compressor for my wife's van. I looked on CL for Honda odyssey parts and almost found none. I clicked on an ad for an odyssey Trans and it was whole van for $x. I only wanted to pay $y for it. I let him think about it for a while and he found a buyer for the trans. The difference between x and y after it was all said and done was $350. A new compressor is $250. Most everything but the rear end of this van is in way better shape. The kicker is I started looking at Detroit metro because 95% of these vans are still on the road, it turns out the van was a mile and a half away.
The only catch was I had to remove the trans. He gave me the van without any cash and I am paying for it tomorrow. My buddy who had come up to help me play with my backhoe and put in some drain tile, suggested we drop the cradle instead. I drove it home pulled it in to the shop and we started tearing it apart.
5 hours later the cradle is out and now I just have to separate the trans. We had taken the bottom bolts and flywheel bolts out so it should be no problem. I love working on stuff and having the right tool for everything. I had to put a piece of fence pipe on a 1" drive breaker bar for one axle nut everything else was no problem.
Unfortunately I ended up in the ER this morning with a pain like appendicitis. I have to take it easy for a day or two.

To be truthful the 1" breakers is a cut down tool. only 18" long. but we tried my week 3/4 impact and my 1/2" IR thunder gun first.
the other axle nut came off with my 3/4 impact.
