Everybody and their brother got craftsman tools for christmas, and most of them sat in the garage in a pretty box. There are thousands and thousands of them around, so , they tend to be rather valueless as used tools. Which is sorta too bad, the older tools were made by good tool companies and are perfectly good tools..
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Rusty, I reently unloaded a huge lot of Craftsman V series and older stuff in a large C-man cantilever box...weighed like120#.  I had another regular metal box of newer C-man stuff(but no Taiwan) and he wanted both.  Let is all go for $550 and he was glad to get it all.  I've started another pile this weekend in addition to all the new stuff.  It will be a challenge to unload 188 8mm allen head  3/8" drive sockets, even if I do 50's in  zip lock baggies.  Have to find the "right" entrepreneur.....lol.  I find the folks looking for used Craftsman tools are putting together a traveling set for a truck or automotive trunk emergency repair set, or a set for a teenager just getting started.  Then dad starts digging through my SK and Proto stuff for his "goody bag".

NO doubt there are thousands of them out there, and in the past flea market set ups, the Craftsman stuff has not sold well.

NEW Craftsman "industrial" tools are current production and still USA made.
I don't know who makes them but the wrenches are just like the old raised panel wrenches, not like the new china "lobster claw" wrenches they sell.

this was as of last year. I haven't kept up on it. I assume they were going to lose some lucrative commercial account due to switching to china manufacture, and they offered to keep a USA line to keep them happy. that is just my speculation.
I do have some recently purchased "industrial" craftsman.
