I found this today at a pawn shop.  I probably over-paid @ $40 (for the local economy), but I knew I couldn't get it to the door for the same via Ebay.  I've been wanting this set.

You don't see many in better condition than this!  Yike
Better store them very carefully in-between uses.

Outstanding score on the auger bits, Derek!!

I have one of those adjustable bits like is pictured on the cover of the manual, if you need one of them!

You did fine.
They are a lot easier to find rusty than shiny.

Let's see, one wood box of 12 NOS bits.  $40 divided by 12 equals $3.33 each for the bits, with the box thrown in for free...  That looks perilously close to a suckage award.

Nice set. Can someone tell if these Craftsman are the same as Irwin? A tool vender I know
said he thought they were , but I have no experience with wood tools.

Same design as Irwin - don't know whether Irwin made them.  Some of the old Craftsman stuff is pretty high quality.

I am impressed with the difference between the outside and inside of that case.   I bet opening it for the first time was sort of like Christmas!   I have dozens of bits, but none near that pretty and unused.
