Unusual hook

Hello, I tried to figure this out on my own, but I had no luck. I am guessing it may be some type of loggers/logging choker hook. There are raised letters that look like ACCO, and raised numbers that look like 7759, but I can't be sure. Length across , as seen in first photo, is approx. 7-1/4", width is approx. 4-1/4", and the height is approx. 3-1/2".  Regards, Lou

This is one handy tool, is often part of the accessories on an automobile frame machine.  If you need a shorter chain, just slide it down the links.  If you break the hook off, it can give you an instant fix, great for a wrecker or tilt bed for hauling cars.  Think it may still be available to suppliers of body shops.

Hello, John. Thanks for the info. I scraped off a lille more of the rust, and found Maclean-Fogg. I believe they have ties to the railroad industry (no pun intended). I will keep digging & scraping. Regards, Lou
