Cast iron table clamp

Hi

Does any one recognise this table clamp?? It appears to have the same form of clamping screw as the grinder next to it... so assumed a US origin..

Can't help, but I'm curious: what does a table clamp do?  I mean, "clamp tables," that's obvious; but I'm uncertain as to its uses.

Clamps TO a table - e.g. hand grinders and kitchen equipment.... and no, hand grinders are not for grinding hands....

The bolt is through it in the wrong direction.
It will probably have A33 in the casting on the opposite side shown.
It came off a red hand grinder that had a gold diamond shaped logo/decal on it.  Probably old US or maybe Japanese.  Could also be Tiawanese for all I know.
I bought mine at a garage sale, and it didn't have the tool rest.
The inside gears seem to be bad, but I still haven't torn it down the rest of the way.

Hi Rhoderman - that't it exactly... Never seen that particular type of hand (powered) grinder before - can you please post an image of it out of its box, so we can see how the clamp attached to the grinder body?? Many thanks...
