I paid WAY to much for this one, but can you blame me? Look at how cool it is! With the worm disengaged, it works like an ordinary set of pliers.....
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

.....but slide the handle over in the slip joint until the worm IS engaged, and it becomes an adjustable alligator wrench. Neat! Patented in 1915

so, you are the winner of a fine tool from Massachusetts.

No, you did not pay too much for it, you paid what you were willing to spend,
and not kick yourself for letting it get away, which would have worked on your health.

   good buy.

I am amazed when it comes to pliers you find.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

Another great find Bob!  I've seen photos of this type before.  Really neat idea and implementation.  Truly gadget worthy!
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

I watch those whenever they come up just never tried to get one, now that you have one maybe I'll try to get the next one so I'm not bidding you up.

Thanks, I appreciate that!

BTW, I did some digging last night and found a listing for this tool in an old 1915 seed catalog. It only cost a dollar back then, which <ahem> was a good deal less than what I paid.

Hmmm.

I wish someone would hurry up and invent a time machine. It would save me a ton of money....
