This multi-tool case just followed me home, all the bits are in good shape... but I'm missing the main tool that the blades and files and openers fit into. Anyone else have a complete set they can share a pic of so I know what to look for? As you can tell from my user name, I was quite excited to find this!

Hello, I am going to throw this out there. I vaguely remember seeing a set like that , with a locality connection to Syracuse ,NY.  Possibly made for Chrysler by either Utica Tools, or Camillus Cutlery. Just a thought, Lou

The handle usually looks like a two layer Swiss Army Knife.  Usually one anchored knife blade a open slot for the tools in the kit.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Very similar sets of interchangeable blades were made by Buck and Boker (and i'm sure others).   You might try dropping a copy of your pictures and a question about the set to Bernard Levine at Knife Magazine at www.knife-expert.com

I don't remember the name but there is a website for similar multi-tool kits.

I've visited that multi-tool website.  I think it is called The Multi-Toll museum but now cannot find it.  Seems like it should be this address but it won't allow access - http://www.multi-tool.org
