what does arrow mean on vise & what are the bolts for

has another arrow in 2nd photo,pointing up,do they mean ???,,,,,,i think this was shop made??.....seems like quality work

Where are the other arrows? I was thinking the arrow direction had something to do with the rotation of the knob, to the movement of the vise jaw???????

No idea on the arrows but the bolts must be for tension on what ever you put in the jaws of the vise as IP said.

Looks like a shop made vice... arrows could just be the makers personal "touch mark"
