Over the last few years I have picked up a few Urrea brand tools. They are made in Mexico and use to be called  Protomex. I have so far found 3 ratchets and 2 wrenches. I am very pleased with the quality of the tools. One ratchet was a double drive model in 3/8 and 1/2 inch. I sold that awhile back because the internal parts did not interchange with Proto. I still have a 3/8 model and a 3/4 inch drive model. The internal parts interchange with Proto parts. The fit and finish is well done. I will keep buying them as I find them.

I see a little bit of that brand around me.     It's been harder to find since they offshored about two years ago.

Want even harder to find?  Before 1964 Campos Hemanos forged wrenches and as a sideline made Z prefix Snap On Mexico tools.  1964 to 1984 Protomex was the name and no more SOMex.    Proto USA was changed in 1984 to Urrea and made Proto design tools until about 2012.     Now all rebrands of other places..

The name stands but it isn't what it was.
The only bad tool is the one that couldn't finish the job.  Ironicly it may be the best tool for the next job.
