Brass Valve????

Hello, Does anyone recognize this fitting?? The pin at top center depresses. Petcock? Boiler? This was in with some other miscellaneous fittings from a plumbing/HVAC repair shop. Thanks, Lou

Looks like the needle valve from a carb. The float has a small arm that closes the valve. The needle is the silver piece and should be free.

Looks like a vent plug from a gear box to me. Being from a plumbing company, it was probably off an auger or a larger threading machine. Oil expandes when it gets hot and this plug relieves the pressure so it does not blow out the seals.  $.02

plug for a valve ,hot water or chill water flow control . plug threads into valve body, an actuator (pneumatic ,electric ect ) mounts on top of plug and is mechanically connected to stem ( not a pin ) .control signal to actuator  opens or closes flow (moves stem  up or down ) in proportion to deviation of said signal .
