I posted for my 75yrs., life-long, full-time machinist friend, who has no idea as to what they are.  He bought a box lot at another machinist’s estate auction.  There were several pieces of similar items of different manufacture (w/ less marking) but basically the same. Thank you in advance.

Perhaps some sort of chain or sprocket holder, holding the sprocket in one place to check timing , tension, or whatever ?

What is the pitch on this guy? If I remember correctly roller chain sizes are in increments of 1/4". RC 80 has a 1" pitch,RC 100 is 1 1/4 " and so on. I think it may change to smaller increments when you get down to the smaller chain,like bicycle chain etc.

That it's on eBay doesn't prove that it's an accurate description, but I'd been wondering if it was a machine tool hold-down, and the t-nuts and clamping bolts included with that eBay offer lead me to think the seller is right.

Hello, Laxarus. I f you plan to use those, the nuts that fit the slot of a milling machine are pretty easy to find. The round piece (rod??) with the hole at 90° may be a tough one. Regards, Lou
