I'm a generalist....I like to build, operate, fix, and destroy.

I work as an Anchor Maintenance Technician for an injection/blow molding company.  As an anchor, I am expected to be a Mechanic, Electrician, Machinist, Fabricator, Welder, Plumber, Carpenter, etc.....  Just to balance things out, I am also a prior enlisted line combat officer in a Combat Engineer National Guard Unit....we don't build anything...unless you call blowing up anything we are allowed to affix demolitions to "constructive".

You could say I am educated.  I have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology.  I am also certified in Method Analysis by Sirge A. Birne, Inc...which basically means I can observe something and have the "authority" to say it is screwed up and suggest how to fix it (human or mechanical).  I am also militarily educated....serving a couple of years enlisted learning how to destroy anything before somebody slipped me a Mickey and made me think it would be a good idea to become an Officer.  I've also gone to Stationary Engineer school (steam boiler operator).

I also have a weird tendency to jump out of aircraft, off any suitably stable standing surface (cliffs, buildings, towers, silos, etc.).  I like to operate highly dangerous tools (chainsaws, cutting torches, etc.) while hanging on ropes or standing in a pair of climbing spurs.

Finally, I learned long ago to appreciate the smile of my Mom, Wife, Son, Daughter, friend, or stranger after I am able to fix something that they have been dealing with and had no understanding of.

SO....that's me....scars, bruises, and memories require an additional deposit of a nickel and a promise, in triplicate, to never repeat what you witness after hearing the words "Hey ya'll, watch this!"

Oh, I am from Mississippi.

I have an autistic son I want to acquire some good ole' tools with and pass along.

Thinking about building a shop for us and fill it with some machines and tools he and I can explore deeper realms of "real men don't read instructions".

Hope this place helps in that endeavor...

Wow! Certified to destroy things. HMMmmmmm, I think you'll fit in. Most of us are pretty good a destroying things, we just do it without a license. It's a diverse group of tool collectors with a depth of knowledge and skills that never stop amazing me. Post a few photos or tell us a story or both.

Yep, I think this is a good place for that.  You've got a really good idea, too, for working together with your son.
Instructions?  Are there instructions after you've waded through all the safety warnings?

And I'm proud to be an American,

who gave that right to me.
