A week ago Friday we had a whole house self starting  generec generator installed that starts it self every Sunday at 12 noon and runs for 12 min, . We forgot about it and my canine  early warning devise went off at full volume . Wife ran to windows to see what it was,she came back with the dog in tow and said the generator works. It is basically quiet when all the windows are closed , the early warning devise may have to be adjusted.  bob w.
