Thursday and Friday Scavenger Hunt
« on: September 08, 2012, 10:44:37 AM »
Thursday's sale didn't yield much for my $10, , but Friday's $30 more than made up for it.

Thursday photo has a 2271 Penncraft aluminum framing square
Star #20 hacksaw  circa 1940's
West German slip joint pliers
Nicholson slim taper file(most of the file part is gone)
Snap-On CT 4-B with really long cord(grounds musta been scarce back when this puppy was made...lol)

Friday's find was at one sale in Gilbertivlle,as I passed up two V-series C-man items in case this sale had more goodies.....and it did....in spades.

May go back today for some more stuff.  Nice older gentleman that was really impressed with what I knew about old tools.

Left side from the top down:
2 V-series C-man crowsfoots and a 9mm SK
Blue Point SP-2033(keep you guessing as to what it is for a minute or two)
Cooper Mfg.  "STIFBACK" hascksaw(Unique design from Marshalltown Iowa, no less)
Lenox folding saw
No name old pipe wrench
No name "Patent Applied For" pliers
Blackhawk PT-1002-1 pliers(see any difference between this pair and the MAC below?...just the missing grip!!....lol)
Pennens 4010 10" adj.
MAC P26A Pliers
3 Facom France screwdrivers
Butchered Snap-On screwdriver
SK stubby 72081
small C-man woodie
Bridgeport #1 phillips
SK 73002
"S Point" phillips stubby

Right side from the top:

4 "rare"  US made casters still with price tags of $9.26 each on them(their relevance is that they're going to roll a lot of my collection around when I'm finished with them!!)
Milwaukee Hole Shooter 0234-1 1/2 US drill(heck this was worth the $30 alone!!)
Stanley #71 Plane in decent shape and one extra cutter. Patents 10/25/01 and 9/10/07
Red German insulated multi bit screwdriver
Goodell Bros.  Pat. 10/5//1897  ratcheting screwdriver
Vintage Craftsman  9-47647  1/2" impact tool
Millers Falls tack pry tool
Millers Falls #5 hand drill
Millers Falls #120B chest drill

I just got a pair of the Patent applied for pliers at a tag sale Thursday.  Paid $3  for them.  They are on my research list.  Do you have any info?

Geneg:  I have no clue .  These were the gentleman's grandfather's tools, and he's older than me by a good bit.  There goes the theory that they are a "one off" prototype!!!

No, they are production, I also found some in Bus's auction pages, but noone seems to know who made them or what patent is referred to (if it was ever issued)
They vaguely resemble pump rod pliers, but are also similar to general purpose pliers of that general type...

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
