Mag Tags

As my eyesight gets older, I find it difficult to read the lightly struck and badly hammered markings on my wrenches. With my big magnifying glass, I am OK the first time, but once they are hung on the wall, it becomes a nuisance. I came up with a fairly simple marking system. I create tags with a word processor, print them on very heavy white paper and use a glue stick to adhere them to magnetic strips. Old refrigerator magnets, calenders and mag business cards have been my sources so far, but Office Max sells packs of business card size magnets if I ever run short. They are easy to move around and extras store on the sides of drawers in my toolbox.

nice display,how about numbering each wrench and puting the information on a chart at the bottom of your display. you could even have a reference to available  patatents .   bob w.

Great idea. I know I have seen rolls of magnetic "tape", in fact I have one around here somewhere, but I can't recall where it came from or how I came to have it. I would guess that a hobby or craft store would stock it in various widths though. It might save you a little bit of work.

That is a good idea.   Nice to be able to locate particular items without squinting or stepping out into bright sunlight.  Pretty nice collection of wrenches too.  When I clicked on this topic I was expecting to see an assortment of the little brass name tags from early magnetos!

Here's hoping none of your friends/no one in your family ever decides to mess with you by switching the labels around.

Good solution, though: clear, but no permanent effect on the tools.

Kool Tools, nice organized display, wish I had the room to lay it all out like you.
I have over 60 toolboxes stacked up & crammed with tools, but it is organized by job.
