I have a pair of Kash locking pliers that I picked up sometime this past summer. They look very much like Vise Grips except for a few minor details. The upper jaw is crimped in place rather then welded like VGs. The secondary release lever is about a inch longer than on VGs and the lever is embossed with a X pattern. Jaw teeth are in good condition. Finish appears to be cad. plated. Tool is marked KASH INDUSTRIES INC--VISE--ELKHART, IND. U.S.A.  PAT. PEND. Pliers have a circle K logo. Sorry can't do pictures, but i can send one. Any info would be helpful.

PS: They may be rare....
In the federal register I see:

Kash Industries, Inc. v. Peterson Manufacturing Co., 332 F.2d 1002 (8th Cir. 1964)

Edit: Oh, this is juicy :)

"...controversy exists as to whether its manufacture and sale of a 'vise wrench with release mechanism' constitutes infringement of Letters Patent No. 2,514,130, ante, as both appellees have accused it; and to prevent them from making or asserting any future claim of such infringement by appellant, or its trade, because the manufacture, sale and distribution of its 'vise wrench' is not covered by Jones' Letters Patent, ante, but other Letters Patent, No. 2,489,895, previously granted to one Stephen M. Kash; and if not so covered by the prior Kash patent, then the Jones patent is invalid for lack of invention."
