As Papaw pointed out in another post, this may be more of a "why's it", than a "whats it".

This one is based on a meat cleaver, and on the end are a bunch of things that can be rotated into position for use.

I found a hammer, alligator wrench, ice chipper, meat tenderizer, can opener, and bottle opener.  The only thing I see that is missing is a screwdriver, and I suppose in a pinch you could use one of the ice chipper tines for that.

Also the cleaver portion is for very light duty work, as the blade appears to be about half the thickness of a normal cleaver.

No makers mark...maybe nobody wanted to take credit for this thing.

I was going to make some far fetched claim for forgetting to post the pictures, but I'll just call it a brain fart and let it go at that.  Thanks Papaw.

Bob,  It's about 14 in. long, and there are no marks...anywhere.  And believe me I've looked, several times.  Sorry for not putting a rule by this.  First I forgot the pictures and now the rule.  This is definitely NOT my finest moment.

Cool multi-cleaver! Bet it would have made a great Friday the 13th prop.

As it has an ice breaker, you may find info on the ice tools website that I have posted somewhere else on the forum - I'll try to find the link and add to/edit this message later

Here it is http://icetoolcollection.com/14patentedtools1850thru1904.htm

Rob H had this on the 55tools blogspot / rec.puzzles what's-it site last year. (#2464)

Someone found an auction listing for it, you are missing a corkscrew.

Seen sold price, complete, $230 - $ 250

We all have our crosses to bear - in my case it's made of billhooks (fascine knives)....
