BIG saw set
« on: May 27, 2013, 12:24:04 PM »
I am pretty sure this is a saw set, but it is very big. Maybe for a saw mill saw? No makers name only two dates, Oct. 14 1873 and ? 24 1874. Who made it and for what exactly?

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Thanks, I guess it is a Moses True, but was it for hand saws or saw mill saws? It is the biggest one I have owned.

The patent description does not indicate what type of saw.  I would guess it would be similar to other saw set styles that come in several different sizes.  The smaller ones are for hand saws, and the larger ones are for crosscut and circular saws.
