The blade holder is 10 1/2' long.  It is heavy metal tool.  Anyone know what it is called?
Thanks,

Looks like a type of padsaw... specifically to use broken hacksaw blades???

Close quarter hacksaw. Not a bad one either. Most are cheezier and only a few are better.

I've got one in my tool box and use it to cut off closet bolts on toilets. They're very handy to have.

I have that same saw , came off the Snap On truck as Blue Point in the 70's.
I used it under the dash when making modifications to install Air Conditioning units in cars.
I have several other styles of that type "Obstruction" saws is what I remember them referred to in the ads.
Yours seems to be the sturdiest design , but you have to keep the blade short.
I went to an air powered one , using the same blade set up.
Of all the things I've lost , I miss my mind the most

Didn't we have a thread on this saw a while back?  As I recall it was supposed to have a much narrower blade than a hack saw, and I think it was called a jab saw, though if you google that you get dry wall saws.

Yep, the correct name is jab saw.  There are several on eBay right now, among all the dry wall saws.  But two are with their original packing, one from KD and the other from Dreier Brothers.  The KD picture won't fit here, but it's at:

The Dreier Brothers has a hack saw blade in it, clearly different from the blade it was originally designed to hold, as seen in the KD on eBay.

FF, It is a cordless model.

IMO you can keep ANY saw without a motor on it. unlees it comes with an endetured servant to opperate it.
