found some pliers
« on: July 24, 2013, 04:08:29 PM »
Bought box at auction to get set of Bernard crimpers and Bay State adjustable wrench.
Found these pliers in box.
Top one is marked Cam- Ron. Three position rather than normal two positions.
Middle pair are Stanley sweethearts. Thought they were No.4 but they are 6 1/2 long and Walters says No. 4 should be 5 long.
Bottom pair are nothing special except locking bolt has odd marking. 7 on top;6 on bottom and three diamonds in center.
Markings are raised rather than impressed.
Anyone got any info on these ?
Googling Cam-Ron got me a lot of Rap hits and some tools on E-bay but no info on who made them.

The three interlocking diamonds might be UTICA?

Ditto, old obscure Utica mark, when very small, no letters.

I remember Cam-Ron...somewhere on here (or perhaps the old forum?)

hmm...

(Cam-ron - was Camron Mfg co(But I don't know which of many), became Pro America Premium Tools,
Emporium, PA

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Agree Utica pair are 7-6. Now all I need to know is when they forged their logo on pivot pin.
Don't think Cam-ron is worth spending more time on. Too many companies with this name.
Stanley (Sweetheart) pliers were evidently issued with tool kits but don't know if they were issued alone.
