Super six
« on: January 02, 2014, 03:44:26 PM »
I am looking for a special package called the super six which consisted of a special intake manifold/matching exhaust manifold, air cleaner, two barrel carb and some small miscellaneous components.

This set-up was evidently most commonly found on Volares and Aspens but could be found on any slant six powered car truck or van from 1977 thru 1980.

I need to find a car that has all of the components attached cause evidently the manifolds can be an issue if parts are mixed.

If anyone knows of a slant six powered car that has these parts and is willing to retrieve and sell please let me know at jhason2@yahoo.com Thanks

Trying to post some pics but I keep getting this............Internal Server Error

I got that same server error yesterday when I tried to post 2 pictures.  I tried it several times with the same server error result.  I then decided to forgo the pictures and posted the text only.  This worked ok.  I then went back to the text, hit modify, and added one picture.  This posted ok.  I then went back again and did the same thing and added a second picture.  This also posted ok.  Then I was done.

Kind of involved but it did work.  This is the first time I have had an issue when using my iPad.

It is so bad on my PC that I can't use it at all.

I am unaware of any problems on the server end. (Not that I could do anything about them anyway!)

This performance option on the slant six, I take it that it is a   MOPAR  option?   Don't recall ever seeing such, but Mopars were always in short supply in this area.   I saw the heading and immediately thought Hudson.

X3 on the Hudson!
I don't remember a high performance option there was a clean burn which was std for California?
Some of the distributor parts are used to convert other distributors to a HEI set up. Aspen and the B100 are the cheapest to buy, even though they are the same on other models! There is a guy on the Hamb who drag races a slant 6, cast his own pistons! Cool guy!

1930 is correct, there was an option called Super Six. Also a HyperPak option, see nice pic of a four barrel feeding the six cylinders !

I wonder if this was their response to the Pontiac OHC six?   There was the Sprint version with a cam, header, and Quadrajet,  up to 60 or so they ran like a 350.

Interesting site. Didn't know they were playing with OHC designs on those engines....decades ago...!

1930 would probably cry if I told him about the perfectly good slant 6 I sent to the scrap yard years ago...because nobody wanted it, even for free...sigh
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

There still the red headed stepchild but for me thats whats make things neat.

EDIT: I just found complete set-up for a very reasonable price. I still need the manifold to carb bracket/linkage cause he was missing that piece and from what Ive heard they can be hard too find, not even sure what it looks like myself at this point but if anyone thinks they can help let me know.

Will post pictures of the linkage when the guys sends me pics from his manual.

Thanks
