Well, it's obviously a handle for something.  I'd speculate that it was a brake lever, clutch throw-out, or something similar, on a machine - say a tractor.  Beyond  that, I got nuthin'.

Looks like a semi-rotating water pump handle, but these usually have a wooden grip...

Some poor fellow's locomotive won't go anymore cause someone walked off with the handle ;P

OK, it is the wrong type for a locomotive, but agreed, handle from some machine...
...and new enough to have a hex bolt instead of square, but old enough to be solid metal...

What size is it? (big difference between a 6" or 3' handle).. also size is square hole...

the overall length is 14 inches with a slightly bigger then 1/2" square.  the handle is about 4 inches

The pump don't work because the vandals took the handle.
