unknown bit for brace

Can anyone tell me what I have here? No markings that I can see & it's pretty clean.

I would lean on a dowel or tennon maker that is missing various sized cutter heads

Is the bottom edge threaded?  I can't tell from the picture.  If it is, then it is the body for a brace bit die head.  They came in some Greenfield tap and die sets, and the different dies screwed onto the end.  I sold one recently.  I will try to dig around and find the pictures.

Here are some pics:

That seems correct. Bottom edge is threaded. Appears to be identical to the one in your set. If it came out of a Greenfield or Wells Bros tap & die set, is it normal for there to be no markings?

I cannot remember if mine was marked.  I sold it at a car show a few weeks ago.  Most Greenfield and Wells brace tools I have had were marked on the shank, but I do not think it would be too unusual to have an unmarked one, particularly if it came in a set.

Oops,  Maybe threaded dowels ;-)  Very cool,  but I think it would be tough to keep the die square to the piece being threaded with a bit brace.

I've threaded a lot in my day. 19 yrs old first day at job and set on the threader all day. Hated it. My most threads in one day was over 1500 1"pipe threads (On a landis head Swift Threader). Even hated that day.  Helped convince me to get more education and move into the office.

If the stock is held in a vise it's pretty easy to keep square - the dies kind of line you up. I would imagine it isn't for very big threads though.

I think it's kinda cool.
