Adjustable Display
« on: August 15, 2014, 11:04:06 PM »
We won this at auction last autumn I saw that my son really liked it, so he took it home. Came with adjustables (foreign except one.)  Usually if he wants something i am bidding on  he'll let me know and I'll let him have it. I had to pay more than my favorite price, even with the 7 tools.

I wonder if that logo on the front is good enough to make a copy, so then you could strip and de-rust the metal triangle and then apply the "new" made logo?

I could scan it together.
We have a couple of large format printers at work. I got rid of my 36" ink-jet plotter.

I think Nick likes some rusty stuff. I've seen wrenches and other tools sprayed with some kind of shellac to stop corrosion and seal it.

Does anyone know of anything like that, or if it works?

Chilly & Bonney,

I remember Globe Master tools from the 1970's & 1980's.  These tools were generally imported from various foreign countries and were of very poor quality (i.e. think three notches below HF or Steve's Discount Tools).  I'm talking "bottom of the barrel" or "use once and toss" tools here.

I like the display, but not the Globe Master logo or tools.  I don't think the adjustables you've got were part of the original display.  just saying...

Just one wrench was Globe Master, one was domestic & the rest were Truecraft (Japan?) He let me trade out the good one for a Fuller.

He liked the rusty display.

Like I said, we paid more than my favorite price, which is $1.00 or less per tool.
Still only paid $12.00 for the display & wrenches.
