garage sale wrenches
« on: June 08, 2014, 04:19:59 AM »
Stumbled onto a nice batch of rusty ones.  2 very heavy screwdrivers, one is a Hurwood.   Bonney chrome combo, Fairmont- Fairmalloy chrome combo,  and a Auto-Kit combo open.   Never seen an Auto-Kit wrench other than the short cob from the kit.  Pliers are Wilde, from the 20s.  Pictured alongside another Wilde I found earlier.  For being made next door in Kansas, they don't turn up very often.   Plus a small axe, all for less than 15.00.

Almost - J.P. Danielson.  See Alloy Artifacts for the details.  The article does list Barcalo as one of the original suspects for the identity if the tool manufacturer, IIRC.

I really like the look of that fat screwdriver, John.

Then 2nd one with the wrench seat.

Any identifying marks? Is it the Hurwood?

chilly,

I'm with you on the beefy stubby screwdrivers, but I like both of them. Too cool for school!
