What is this tool?

Hi!

I am no regular member of your (pretty nice, i must say) forum, but I was looking for information on a tool my boss just gave me.

He inherited it from his father, having no idea what was the use of it, and has asked a lot of people around him. He could never find the use of it. His father was a butcher, so it does not seem to have any link to his work.

If someone can help out with this tool I am pretty sure it is you guys.


All of the little sockets can be moved, changing the distance between the legs of the triangle formed by the three of them. The set comes with different bits of various forms.

Can anybody help with the identification of this?

A watch ratchet for removing the backs off watches. I have one like that, but without the box and extra tips.

Always wondered what the tool looked like to take those off. Tough not to scratch them without the right tool.
I have a couple of watch repair and parts books from the 40's/ 50's , decided it's not for me. The eyes and hands aren't good enough for watch repair.
