Sunex nut drivers
« on: August 25, 2014, 06:15:40 AM »
I have some of these, are they low quality tools AKA harbor freight stuff?

I have no use for these. I have had a Snap on set for years that I never use but am curious on quality cause I dont want to toss a quality tool.
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

I have Sunex valve grinder set that came from my grandfather.  I don't believe they are "cheap", or low quality, tools.  I could be wrong.

I thought they were mid range to better brand - like craftsman or better.

Sre they related to the Sun diagnostic tools group?

Id be surprised if that was the same company and regardless even if it were I think we are talking about different generations of tools so the quality of the product just cannot be compared to one another.

I can remember when Stanley were quality tools.

probably not even the same company.

Sunex Tools is a brand name of Sunex International, who seems to be primarily an importer/integrator now.
(Their web page says they are 35 years old)

Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Sunnen made premium valve and engine rebuild tools. Sometimes confused with Sunex.
I have a set of sunex impact sockets that served me well since the mid 80's.
As good as Craftsman , lifetime warranty.
