Hello everyone i my name is josh and i am a lumberjack. I have collected axes for a number of years now and have over 1200 so i have no problems identifying those. I do however have a lot of old tools that i have alot of questions about so this seems like the best place to learn and share some knowledge. thanks everyone.

Welcome aboard from the other side of the pond in the United states.

Wow 1200 axes, now that's a large group.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

Hi Josh

I have just joined too and am based in South Wales. You sound like a bloke who might be able to give me some advice. I picked up a cracking Plumb double-bit head at a car-boot, but can't find a handle. I have bought a billet of hickory to make one but as it will be my first attempt, my hopes aren't that high! Do you know anyone in the UK who sells them, just in case mine doesn't work out?

Phil
