RUTH ratchet??

I picked this one up today. The only markings I can find is what I can make out on the pad in the web of the handle. It appears to be marked RUTH, the R & U are real faintly marked.

3/4 drive, the head is 3 inches in diameter and it is 18 inches long. It looks like it doesn't come apart very easily. The swage marks appear to hold the top and bottom covers in place. Anybody ever take anything like this apart before? Anybody ever see one like this before?

Maybe TRUTH, and the guy stamping missed the T completely. AA does show some of the Truth 3/4 drive stuff, but unfortunately no ratchets.

I have a 3/4" drive, 18" long, 28 tooth, Truth ratchet tucked away someplace but I don't know where  


Unfortunately I don't remember what it looks like.

I just saw a 1/2" drive TRUTH on eBay that has a round head like my 3/4" but it has the name cast in the web of the handle. So I guess that is who made it now to figure out how to open it up. The mechanism jams in the one direction, I'm guessing there is a piece broken off and floating around inside.

There is a cover like on the selector switch side that is swaged on. I'll try and post a picture tonight.

The other side, drive side. There are 2 ball detents 180 degrees apart.

By the looks of it that isn't coming apart with out ruining it unless there's some double secret way to open them. I would try soaking in in some penetrating fluid or Acetone-Automatic Trans Fluid mix for a few days. Most times its just a matter of dry dirty grease in there that is jamming it up.

I am sure the caps are threaded and then screwed onto the main beam.
Takes a tool to engage these detents to un-screw these plates.
Yes, soak this ratchet to loosen up the innards.
Then spray in Kroil or another thin penetrant to lube up the pawls,springs,selector, etc.
Put it to use to really get the feel of it.

It kind of looks like one of those watch opening type tools would work.  It (the tool to open tge ratchet) is probably the type of tool we would have to label either
A.  Leather working
B.  A nutcracker

What else?
