hello, I have a 30 inch brass and wood level marked M. Davidson New York no. 49, anyone know this maker, thank you

There is a listing in the EAIA Directory of American Tool Makers. J. M Davidson (James) Mark on levels and J. M. Davidson PO'Keepsie NY on a scraper. 1860-1869 States that the NY is believed to be NY state not city. H. Davidson listing in the same book also references a level marked with M. Davidson imprint and was thought to be a mis-mark for H Davidson or J. M. Davidson.
